Henkel’s CEO takes position at Adidas

Kasper Rorsted is leaving consumer goods firm Henkel in April to become CEO of Adidas. Rorsted has been CEO at Henkel for eight years and since taking over in 2008, shares in the maker of Schwarzkopf hair care products and Loctite glue have more than tripled, while its annual sales have grown by more than a third to approximately €18 billion ($19 billion) estimated for 2015, according to the company.  Rorsted was widely seen as seeking a new challenge after Henkel lost out to Coty Inc. in a bid to buy hair care firm Wella from Procter & Gamble last year. Hans Van Bylen, who has worked at Henkel since 1984 and has headed the beauty care business since 2005, will take over as Henkel CEO on May 1. Henkel has not named a successor for Van Bylen yet.
