Michael P. Naude, the former Executive Director and current Head of Administration at The Aerosol Manufacturers’ Association of South Africa (AMA), passed away on March 24.
“It is with the deepest regret that I must inform you that Michael Naude, my predecessor at the helm of AMA South Africa, passed away on Saturday,” said AMA Executive Director Nick Tselentis
“From March 2011 to Saturday 24th March 2018, Mike handled the Administrative side of the Association. He was in the industry for a long time and served it well,” noted Tselentis.
“As many members know Mike has been the foundation of this Association for over 30 years, having been inaugurated as the first Executive Director (ED) in 1988, serving in this position for 23 years when he handed over the role to Nick Tselentis, but still continued supporting the association in an admin role until he died. His passion for the aerosol industry and perseverance for safety and compliance has moulded the South Africa industry to where it is today.”
“In 1988, CFCs were a major media and industry concern and it was imperative that the AMA formalise its structure and response, that was when Mike stepped up and took on the ED role. During his tenure he was responsible for numerous accolades within the industry, with two most notable being the introduction of the Code of Practice, allowing the drive for compliance to be more attainable for members and the extremely successful training programmes, which to date have seen more than 1 200 delegates attending.”
“Mike was a humble, passionate and fun spirited man that will be greatly missed by the aerosol industry, I’m sure every single member has fond and personal memories of their time spent with him. Mike will be sorely missed by the all. Thank you Mike for all your years of loyalty and dedication to the AMA.”
