Ball Metalpack plans to cease operations at its Springdale, AR plant in the second quarter of 2020 and will lay off 76 full-time workers, according to the Arkansas Democrat Gazette. Production at the plant, which makes steel packaging for food and aerosol products, will shift to six of the company’s eight plants in the U.S.
In June of 2018, Ball Corp. and Platinum Equity formed Ball Metalpack with Platinum Equity owning 51% and Ball Corp owning 49%.
