L’Oréal searches for CEO successor; Agon set to retire

L’Oréal’s Chairman & CEO Jean-Paul Agon’s mandate is set to expire when he reaches retirement age in July 2021. Reports point to the company proposing an internal candidate to succeed him by this fall. Agon is poised to help with the transition. Previous handovers of the company have gone to employees within the company.

Agon joined L’Oréal in 1978. He has been CEO since 2006. According to reports, Deputy CEO Nicolas Hieronimus is considered a top contender to succeed Agon.
