The Aptar Group will close its Connecticut facilities in Torrington and Stratford, laying off 290 people in the process, according to the company. The layoffs will begin Sept. 15; the Torrington facility will officially close by the end of December; the Stratford facility will be shuttered by the end of March 2021. Both factories make packaging for Aptar Beauty + Home, which will be consolidated to facilities in Illinois, New Jersey and Mexico.
