Nussbaum will now focus on the development and production of aluminum cans, including aerosol cans.

The Nussbaum Group has withdrawn from the aluminum tube business, citing the “difficult market situation in the field of aluminum tubes.” Nussbaum Matzingen AG has decided to concentrate on its core business, the development and production of aluminum cans, including aerosol cans. Management stated that it “regrets that…the last Swiss aluminum tube manufacturer is closing its doors.”

The closing of the the Kesswil, Switzerland plant will affect 35 employees and Nussbaum said it is developing a social compensation plan to avoid hardship cases. Additionally, with the planned expansion of its headquarters in Matzingen, Switzerland, the company stated that “several employees might be offered a job opportunity at the Matzingen site.”

The tube production lines were sold to LINHARDT Group.
