Turkish packaging manufacturer Perfektüp Ambalaj has neared completion of its new production base in Kırklareli. According to the company, the new 1,076,391 sq ft facility will enhance business volume, production capabilities and operational capacity.
Sustainability was at the forefront of the entire construction process, as Perfektüp’s Kırklareli is being built using environmentally-friendly materials and the completed facility will be eligible for the LEED green building certification. Additionally, the firm will employ several zero-waste principles at the factory, including purifying water from sinks, showers and during production to be reused; collecting and storing rainwater to use for irrigating green areas and firefighting; using a roof solar panel to generate energy; treating waste gases generated during production to minimize their environmental impact before being released into the atmosphere; recycling compressed scrap aluminum and waste from production; and sorting and recycling other waste materials like metal, plastic and paper.
Production is expected to begin in June with the first aerosol line.
