Plastipak Packaging, Inc., a wholly-owned subsidiary of Plastipak Holdings, Inc., has announced that its founder President & CEO William Young will transition out of his role and welcome the next generation of leadership: his son-in-law, Edward Morgan.

Young founded Plastipak alongside his parents, Mary and William Young, in Jackson Center, OH. He has been the Chairman of the Board of Directors, and President & CEO of Plastipak—a global provider of packaging solutions, recycled materials and transportation services—since its inception in 1967. He will continue to serve as Chairman of the Board following his transition; the Young family will retain ownership of Plastipak, and the organization will remain a privately-held family business.
“It has been one of the great honors of my life to lead Plastipak and work alongside some of the most engaged hearts and minds in the business over the past 56 years,” he said.
“I am so fortunate to have crossed paths and collaborated with many outstanding customers, partners and suppliers, and I thank them for trusting our company to help them achieve their goals.”
MORGAN
Following Young’s transition, Morgan will assume the role of President & CEO. He has over 25 packaging-related patents and has been with Plastipak for more than 20 years, serving in various management and executive roles, including Senior VP of Operations, Extrusion Development, Global Manufacturing Processes and Intellectual Property. He also served as Director of Transportation for Whiteline Express, LTD., and most recently as an Executive Advisor at Plastipak. Before joining Plastipak, he worked at Deloitte Consulting and Ford Motor Company. He has a Master of Business Administration from the University of Michigan and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the Ohio State University.
