California Manufacturers & Technology Association (CMTA), of which the Western Aerosol Information Bureau (WAIB) is a member, President Lance Hastings made the following statement regarding Gov. Gavin Newsom’s 2019-2020 proposed State Budget:
“Manufacturers create tremendous opportunities for California’s economy, our middle class, and state revenues. Gov. Newsom’s proposed budget indicates there is an understanding of the importance of our manufacturing economy and its 1.3 million workers. Support for effective incentives for manufacturing investment and economic development is a signal that this Administration cares about new manufacturing growth. We are pleased that Gov. Newsom’s ‘California for All’ theme includes the growth of the manufacturing sector that can elevate the lives of so many. There is a lot of work to do, especially in building a sustainable pipeline of skilled workers to support new manufacturing growth, and we look forward to working with the Governor and his team throughout the year to ensure that the California dream of manufacturing turns into a promise.”
