Principal Aaron Goldberg (Washington, DC) will speak in a live webinar hosted by BLR titled “Aerosol Cans: EPA’s Universal Waste Proposal and How It May Affect Your Business.” The webinar will take place on February 13 from 2:00-3:00 p.m. EST.

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is proposing to add hazardous waste aerosol cans to the “universal waste” program under the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA) regulations. The proposal is designed to facilitate the proper management of discarded aerosol cans by streamlining the requirements that otherwise might apply to the collection and transport of the wastes.

The webinar will allow participants to learn how to determine if aerosols are a universal waste as well as how to properly dispose of them in compliance with applicable federal regulations. It will focus on the complex and uncertain status of aerosol cans under the existing RCRA regulations, the potential benefits of designating aerosol cans as universal wastes, limitations on the scope of EPA’s universal waste proposal and how they may undercut the benefits of the rule, and how the final rule would be implemented in the states and how that might complicate interstate shipments.

CLE credit will be available in some jurisdictions.
