The U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) Office of Drug and Alcohol has issued a clarification that Federal law does not recognize the legalized status of medical marijuana, hemp, CBD oil or recreation marijuana. The DOT is warning commercial driver’s license (CDL) drivers that the use of these substances will result in a positive drug test, and therefore loss of license.

U.S. DOT said both CBD oil and marijuana contain THC, a banned Schedule 1 substance under DOT regulations.
