Colep, a global player in the consumer goods packaging and contract manufacturing industries, will launch its innovation offer at the Aerosol & Dispensing Forum (ADF) in New York in September.

The ADF, which has been a great success in Paris for the last decade, will now transfer its winning format to the North American market, opening it up to stateside brand owners and suppliers. Colep will use this platform to introduce its innovation offer to its U.S. partners, showcasing its capabilities in aerosol technology.

Colep initiated its operations in Mexico in 2013 when it acquired its plant in Santiago de Querétaro, located in the heart of Mexico. As a country with a thriving trade market and population of almost 128 million, Mexico has become an suitable location for multinational brand owners who have set up manufacturing operations in the region, to service both Mexico and the U.S.

Santiago de Querétaro is the fastest growing city in Mexico for logistics and manufacturing, according to Colep, and is a hub of enterprise and economic development, thanks to its established supply chain and well-developed road and freight transport networks leading to Mexico City; the gateway to North America. The region is industry-rich due its membership of the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA), which encourages free trade throughout Mexico, the U.S. and Canada, with emphasis on removal of borders and the free movement of people, to achieve its economic integration goals.

Colep has been investing in its plant in Santiago de Querétaro over the last three years in order to maximize production capacity and further enhance its manufacturing credentials to meet the highest international requirements.

The fully operational facility has been constructed in line with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and provides access to a range of aerosol technologies including alcohol and water based products, as well as specialist Bag-on-Valve and dual compartment system technologies, as well as Natural Foaming Cream with CO2 and most recently, Oil Foam.

Customers can also choose from a selection of on-trend personal care product ranges, which are currently being developed, stability tested and formulated in line with US regulations. The ranges include: APD/Deo; Hair Spray and Hair Foams/Mousses; Shave Foam/ Gel and Sun Care.

Paulo Sousa, Colep Sales Director for the Americas, commented: “We are looking forward to transferring our expertise and know-how in aerosol technology to the U.S. market through our plant in Mexico. Our U.S. partners can draw on decades of innovation expertise in partnering with Colep, working with our multinational team of Chemists, Packaging Engineers and Product Managers to bring breakthrough technology projects to life.”

The Querétaro personal care aerosol manufacturing plant joins Colep’s 11 other facilities located across Europe, Brazil, and the Middle East, where the company manufactures a wide variety of aerosol, liquid and cream products.

Colep’s is a member of The Alliance of Colep and One Asia (ACOA), and through this, Colep’s customers have access to a global supply network of innovative aerosol formulations and packaging solutions from Japan, China, India, Thailand and Australia.

Colep will exhibit at the Aerosol & Dispensing Forum in New York on 13th and 14th September, stand C2/D2. For more information contact Jo Jackson, Marketing & Innovation Manager jo.jackson@colep.com
