Roelof van Driel to keynote at BAMA Forum

Good product design for aerosols should reach far beyond just the surface pattern and shape to encompass and promote the entire experience of using that particular product. This is the view of one of the presenters who are due to address delegates at the British Aerosol Manufacturers’ Association (BAMA) annual Forum. The event is to take place on the 19th-20th October 2016 at The Belfry Hotel in Sutton Coldfield.

Roelof van Driel is one of the keenly anticipated keynote speakers. He is a design and development director at the Dutch-based agency VanBerlo and will present a talk on Aerosol Design & Semiotics – how semiotics in aerosol design creates the optimal user experience.

Van Driel says: “Great aerosol design should not only consist of 2D design and appearance but should encompass the entire user experience, from the sound to the texture, to even the spray pattern. Gaining user insight, looking into the brand’s heritage and exploring all avenues enables designers to translate a design into a tangible, solid solution.”

The presentation will review examples that VanBerlo has been involved in including: Cillit Bang; Lysol and most recently the ground-breaking, Life Scents Air Wick.

The BAMA Forum has become the must-attend occasion in the sector’s calendar. It provides Members of the Association with the chance to catch up with industry colleagues, get up to speed with the latest issues and learn about innovations – all in one place. The BAMA Awards – which are open to BAMA Members only – and Gala dinner will take place on the evening of the 19th October.
